The Kiwi songstress was reportedly the only Album of the Year nominee not to be offered the chance to perform an original track.
Citing "sources close to Lorde", TMZ reports the singer was only offered the option to sing as part of a tribute to the late Tom Petty - a version of events backed by a Variety story.

The four other Album of the Year nominees, Childish Gambino (Donald Glover), Kendrick Lamar, Bruno Mars and Jay Z - all of whom are male - were offered solo slots by the Grammys' producers.
