Sharp as - the bluntest knife in the drawer...

Simon Bridges said he had been very 'sharp' as Opposition leader. A critic has also said he isn't the sharpest knife in the draw.

Poor Simon! He has been  thrown in  the deep end by the National Party, to deflect any criticism away from potential 'real leaders'.

The National Party will do their thing  this weekend - something they have been really good at during the eighty years of their existence - real BS and jelly beans!
